We have measured the dielectric spectra of the highly conductive suspensions of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) in organic solvents which contain the surfactant sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) with a wide range of SWCNT concentrations. We demonstrated that by assuming that the suspension consists of weakly coupled poly-electrolytes, we can explain the observed dielectric spectra in terms of electric polarizability and nanotube diameter distributions. The different solvent-induced behavior can be explained by different electrical conduction mechanisms arising from nanotube clustering and the formation of dissociated and aggregated SDBS micelles. We find that while the conductivity of SWCNTs dispersions is determined by the electrolyte dielectric constant, the nanotube diameter and the polyelectrolyte structure are the factors that dictate the high-frequency behavior of the conductivity.Aïchi (footballer)
